Who We Are
HydroTherapy Essentials is an independent resource dedicated to evidence-based information about water therapy. We research, write, and publish articles that help people understand how hydrotherapy works, what the science says, and how to apply it safely at home or with professional guidance.
We are not a clinic. We do not sell equipment. We do not accept payment for product reviews or endorsements. Our only goal is to provide accurate, well-sourced information that helps you make informed decisions about your health.
Why This Site Exists
Water therapy is one of the oldest healing traditions on the planet — but finding trustworthy information online is surprisingly difficult. Most hydrotherapy content falls into one of two categories:
- Marketing disguised as education. Equipment manufacturers and spa companies publishing “articles” that are really sales pitches.
- Unsourced health claims. Blogs repeating the same generic benefits without citing any actual research.
We started HydroTherapy Essentials to fill the gap. Every article we publish cites peer-reviewed research. When we make a claim about hydrotherapy’s effects on pain, recovery, or mental health, we link to the studies that support it. When the evidence is mixed or limited, we say so.
Our Editorial Standards
We cite primary sources. Our articles reference studies from PubMed, peer-reviewed journals, and medical institutions — not other blogs or press releases.
We distinguish evidence from anecdote. Personal experience matters, but it is not the same as clinical evidence. We label each clearly.
We update our content. Research evolves. When new studies are published, we revisit and update relevant articles.
We disclose limitations. Hydrotherapy is not a cure-all. We are clear about what it can and cannot do, and when you should see a doctor instead.
We do not give medical advice. We provide educational information. Your healthcare provider is the right person to make treatment decisions for your specific situation.
Meet the Team
Nikki — Lead Writer & Researcher
Nikki is a health and wellness writer with a focus on evidence-based therapeutic practices. She researches hydrotherapy topics by reading clinical trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses — then translates that research into plain-language articles that real people can actually use.
Her interest in hydrotherapy started with personal experience: using warm water therapy to manage chronic muscle tension from desk work, and later exploring cold water immersion for mental clarity and recovery. That personal interest led her down a research rabbit hole, and HydroTherapy Essentials is the result.
Nikki’s approach: read the studies, understand the mechanisms, explain them clearly, and always link to the source so readers can verify for themselves.
